Cardboard Challengs and World Polio Day
Saturday, 10th Oct, 10:00 - 2:00

Merced Sunrise Rotary helped sponsor a local the Global Cardboard Challenge as part of the annual event presented by the Imagination Foundation that celebrates child creativity and the role communities can play in fostering it.  Kids of all ages are invited to build anything they can dream up using cardboard, recycled materials and their imagination.  Saturday, October 10th, 2015, our community come together and played!  Prizes were awarded!  What fun it was!!

Sunrise Rotarians did play yesterday at the Merced Mall from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm but also had a more serious note to be accomplished as Merced Sunrise Rotary got the word out about World Polio Day.  At this time, only two countries have reported polio cases caused by the wild poliovirus: Afghanistan and Pakistan.  Africa has not seen a case in over a year, but our work isn’t done yet.  The day was about getting the word out about efforts to end polio.  After all we are this close!!
