The Bob Hobbs Memorial Shrimp Feed
14 March 2015

Prep time for the annual Bob Hobbs Memorial Shrimp Feed found many Rotarians in the kitchen preparing the meal, in the Merced County Fairgrounds Pavilion setting tables, preparing the auction items, and setting up the serving area.

As one can imagine this event did not take place without the help of many individuals from the community.  Merced High School Football players served the meal.  UCM Rotaract students greeted guests, were table captains and sold tickets.  Merced High Future Business Leaders used "the Square" to make electronic payment easy for our guests.  Merced High Interact students addressed raffle tickets and helped pass out cookies along with Miss Merced contestants.

Many thanks to our guests and helpers to make this a wonderful event of great food and drink, where the community we serve helps to support our efforts and causes. Thank you!

As good time was had by many as Merced Sunrise Rotarians (Frank Reed, Galen Chastain, Betsy Donovan, Gary and Cathy Hogston, Steve Benner and Theresa Cesar), UCM Rotaract students and Merced High Interact students painted the Dining Room of the D Street Shelter.  From 8:00 am until noon about 15 individuals went through three gallons of paint for the doors and 15 gallons of paint for the walls.  The end result freshened up the dining room of the facility.
