Paul's Place - Friday, June 5th, 6:30 am
Victor Dominguez was our guest speaker. Victor spoke about "The Dangers of Social Media" and its impact our youth. Victor was representing the Idaho Internet Crimes Against Children Coalition (IICACC).
Our newest member Vincent Roos was inducted into the club. Vince teaches Business Administration at the Merced Campus of Fresno Pacific University. Welcome Vince!
Frank reminded us of the Kick-Out Party 27 June. Steve said that only eight tickets remain for the Giants game 11 July. Rich provided us insight through his Vocational 180. Meanwhile Captain John proudly announced that his daughter graduated from CSU Chico.

Police Chief Andrade introduced Detective Dan Dabney of the Merced Police Department Hi-Tech Crimes Unit spoke about the Departments involvement in crimes against youth in the Merced area. The unit is a member of the Sacramento Valley Hi-Tech Crimes Task Force keeping pace with current trends and methods criminals are using within our community.
Stand-in President Tim O'Neill kept the meeting on pace as he congratulated Alan Arnolds fairgrounds Zinfandel, Merlot and Chardonnay blue ribbon wins. Pope Lawrence spoke about a recent trip to visit Westside water facilities. Captain John was proud to announce his upcoming 33rd wedding anniversary. Frank Reed reminded us of the Kick-Out Party June 27th at Vista Ranch.
Steve Benner said that only two Giants tickets remain for the game July 11th. Bob Casey reminded us about the North/South Game at Veterans Stadium June 26th and then did a double bell ringer for birthdays and an anniversary!!

Adam Cox and Dan Alcorn provided insight into a concept in Rotary turned into reality - the Merced Satellite Rotary, an extension of the Merced Rotary Club. The charter thirteen members meet twice per month on the 1st and 3rd Thursday evenings. The first meeting is for business, while the second is a mixer. Other activities and fundraisers are scheduled in between. Their focus will be on youth in the community, supporting the Junior Leadership Merced efforts and the City swimming pools.
Acting President, Mike Altomare had members remind us of their wedding anniversary: Bud -49th, Richard - 36th, Sam - 37th. Frank reminded us of the Kick-Out Party 5:30 pm next Saturday, June 27th at Vista Ranch. Steve Benner said all tickets gone for the Giants game July 11th. North/South Game is at Veterans Stadium June 26th. Butch auctioned off his gift from Parma, Italy!

Bob Casey reported that the All Star Football banquet went very well. Students were all well behaved and demonstrated good sportsmanship. Tonight’s All Star game should be well attended in spite of the heat. He reminded the members who signed up to help at the game to report by 5:15 PM. Game time is 7 PM.
Four bell ringers were in evidence: Bob Casey for his 40th birthday; Steve as his daughter who is getting married tomorrow; Theresa for her 23rd anniversary of wedded bliss and which she celebrated on a cruise, during which her son proposed to his fiancé and she accepted; and Kyle, who has been gone for a while, to celebrate his 4th (and last) son’s college graduation. 4 out of 4 is not a bad average!
Steve passed out the game tickets for the trip to San Francisco on July 11th. The bus is full!! This event should provide a good time for all.
The program for the day was given by Stuart as penance for his anemic attendance record. He devoted considerable time explaining “My Rotary” and how to access the RI website. He extolled the merits of the Rotary Foundation and urged every member to make a contribution every year, even if a small amount.
