Madam President Paskin started the meeting by awarding Gina here perfect attendance pin along with a few fines to keep everyone on their toes. Hand provided his very interesting Vocational 180.
Betsy was introduced as our speaker. She presented information about the Rotary District 5220 Basic Education and Literacy Month Project that District Governor Hancock has asked that she chair. Betsy presented the book "What do you do with an idea?" and how this book would be shared with students in the local junior high schools in September. Betsy will be working with local schools and other Rotary clubs to promote literacy and how to share the concept of the power of an "idea." Set your calendars for September, as the month is dedicated as Basic Education and Literacy Month.

After President Paskin opened the meeting Rich Miller, our new Treasurer, spoke about dues and fines - what a way to start your day! Kyle reminded members that Wednesday, 29 July @ 6:00 pm at the California Room, UC Merced representatives would be speaking about the 2020 Plan for the University. Theresa received her Paul Harris Plus One pin and Mike C. received a perfect attendance pin and did his Vocational180. Steve and Betsy are on the map, as their City Council districting maps were accepted for consideration.
President Paskin introduced Tim who spoke about the club members Merced Field of Honor commitment. Then Cathy introduced the Five Avenues of Service chairs who spoke about their needs for assistance.

Joe Cortez and company thanked us for our continued support of veterans. Liz Osmer and Lonnie Davis provided information on Haven of Hope (a component of the Merced Rescue Mission).
