Today the Speech Contect was held. Four Merced High School students got up early and presented a five minute speech to our group (From right to left in the picture - Jessica Setiawan, Jaime Arias, John Cortez, and Jorge Coria Pena). The winner will be presentinmg at the District Speech Contest - Contratulations Jaime! Rotarian Mark Lutz outlined the process to the students and assured the process proceeded approrately.
Tim O'Neill announced the Thirsty Thursday gatherings starting next Thrsday at the Branding Iron Banquet Roo from 5:30-7:00pm.

President Rawling returns from Israel and Dubai.
Tim gets fined while Sam smiles waiting his turn. Gina provided insight into how she got here in her Vocational 180. Betsy and Theresa discuss who was fined for what. Later Betsy was awarded as a second year Paul Harris Fellow.
Come help repaint the Dining Room of the D Street Homeless Shelter, Saturday 7 Feb from 8:00 am - Noon.
Merced HeARTh Project is going strong under the leadership of Monika Modest. The goal of the Project is to create 1,000 sponsored clay hearts at $10 each for a total of $10,000. Proceeds benefit Haven of Hope, the Women’s Recovery Program, the Room at the Inn, the Family Emergency Shelter, the Living Well Cafe and the Senior Nutrition Program. Hearts will be on display at the Merced Mall and they can be picked up by their creators to keep. Alan Arnold was acting president and introduced Rotrians and guests. Dr. RoseMary Parga Duran, Superintendent of Merced City Schools and City School Board Member Brian Cox presented information about upcoming changes to City School boundaries.
